Here are some of the things that are most important to Hunter Fysioterapi’s approach - to help you decide if you should invest in it.

Are we a good match?

If you are in pain, or are pursuing an important goal with your body, you don't want to waste your time or money on approaches that don't work for you. So let's make sure we are a good match and you know what to expect.

Because the approach is not for everyone.

YOU DO THE WORK

Do you want to be active in your recovery? Do you want the tools, the power to heal yourself?

I believe in the transformative power of training and movement to heal and grow our anti-fragile bodies.

So I don't use "passive modalities" to help people, meaning you won't be lying on your back "receiving treatment" from me. I do a lot of recovery stuff around breathing, self-massage and relaxation techniques, but YOU are in the drivers seat, and I assume you want you to involve yourself.

I am more of a “physio-coach” than a “physio-therapist”.

I do think passive approaches have their place, it's just not what I offer.

MOVEMENT SKILL

Do you want to get fixed or do you want to learn something?

We are not just a bunch of isolated physiological variables like "flexibility", "cardio" or "strength" that we must maintain. Our body is a united system of systems, and if we only isolate its "parts", we will remain prone to injury and harmony will elude us. If you think of your body and exercises as something that "needs to get done to you" while you stay detached or just "get it done" mindlessly, then a fitness center is probably a better match.

I don't just help you move more, I help you move with more skill.

Simply put, presence and focus are important ingredients and improving your coordination is impossible without them. If you want to engage in learning how to move better, if you are motivated by mastery - then we are a good match.

FINDING LOST MOVEMENT

Do you want to rediscover your range?

We are not just bags of muscles. If you want to simply add strength training to your life, find a personal trainer or program to get you going. Strength is a very important quality in my approach, but is layered on top of full range of motion in fully functioning joints.

I help you rediscover the movements your body has lost.

If you are not curious about exploring your limitations and restoring your joint range of motion, but mainly want exercises that feel easy or simple or get you sweating, we aren't a good match.
